If you want to use Minddistrict, you need an account. This is done through the healthcare organization, for example the general practice or the mental healthcare institution. Each affiliated organization has its own mind district platform. Your care provider or another employee of the organization can create an account for you. You can then log in with this.
At Minddistrict we protect your data so that you can safely use the platform. That sometimes doesn't make logging in any easier. Having trouble logging in? View our support page here with solutions for login problems.(Opens in new window)
How do I login?
Your therapist will create an account for you in the organisation's platform. You will then receive a welcome email. Click on the link to create a password. Your account will automatically open in the browser and you can get started right away.
Bookmark the web address of the platform. This way you can quickly find where you can log in next time.
On some platforms you can create an account yourself. On the login page, go to 'Create an account' and follow the steps.
Create password
Your account is protected with a password. Simple, short passwords are easy to crack. That is why we set a number of conditions for the password:
- Consist of at least 12 characters
- Contain at least 1 special character (for example !@#$%*).

Log in to the Minddistrict app
From the welcome email you log in for the first time via a browser and create a password.
You can then log in to the Minddistrict app in 2 ways:
- With a QR code
- With the e-mail address and password you also use to log in to the platform.
After logging in, you create a 5-digit pin code. This pin code makes it easier to log in next time. You no longer have to enter your e-mail address and password.
If logging in with the pin code is no longer possible, for example because you have forgotten it, you can click the ‘Reset here’ click. The app will then ask you to log in again with the QR code or your email address and password. You can then reset your PIN.

Log in with two-step authentication (2fa)
It is possible that your (healthcare) organization uses two-step authentication on the Minddistrict platform. This offers you an extra layer of security to protect your account even better than with a password alone. Two-step authentication means that you log in in 2 steps: first you enter your password. Then you enter a code that you receive on your phone.
The two-step authentication applies to login via the browser. Not every Minddistrict platform has the option to use two-step authentication.
Enable two-step authentication
Sometimes it is mandatory for you to enable two-step authentication, sometimes it is an option for you. To enable two-step authentication, you can follow these steps:
- You log in to the Minddistrict platform
- Choose 'Set 2FA'
- Choose whether you want to authenticate via an authentication application on your phone (a) or via SMS (b). We recommend using the authenticator app as it is the safest choice.
- You scan the QR code with your authentication application (a) or enter your phone number (b)
- Click 'Continue'
- You enter the received code
- Complete the 2FA setup
- You will receive your recovery codes to store in a safe place
Good authenticator apps are: Google authenticator, Microsoft authenticator; LastPass authenticator; Authy. These apps are free to download.
Customize two-step authentication
Have you previously set up two-step authentication but want to change settings, create new recovery codes or adjust the duration of the code's validity? Which can. You do this via the settings in your profile.
The organization you are affiliated with can choose to make entering an authentication code mandatory or optional. Is it optional for you? Then you can also disable the two-step authentication in the settings.
When is an authentication code requested?
If two-step authentication is set up, an authentication code will be requested at different times:
- login in
- When changing the password
- When using 'forgot password'
- After one hour of inactivity
- When turning off two-step authentication
In addition, the password is requested at:
- Change two-step authentication settings
- Request new recovery codes
- Disable two-step authentication
What if you lost your phone?
You will receive 6 recovery codes when setting up two-step authentication. You can use these codes if you (temporarily) do not have access to your telephone. If you have lost these recovery codes, please contact your care provider or helpdesk of your (healthcare) organization. They can easily reset your two-step authentication for you.
