Display of participants in a conversation

This update is relevant for all users

The display of participants in a conversation will change. In the old situation, a participant needed to click on the participants icon to see who is participating in the conversation. Now, participants are always visible. This way the user can:

  • Immediately see who is participating in the conversation
  • Immediately see which participants are available for a chat or video conversation
  • Add or delete participants more easily

Invite a guest to a conversation

This update is relevant for all professionals

This functionality is not available by default. The Minddistrict Servicedesk can activate this functionality on request.

From now on, it will be possible to invite guests to a conversation. A guest is someone who does not have an account in the Minddistrict platform. The manager of the conversation (= the person who starts the conversation) can send a link to someone outside the platform. This allows the external person to participate in the video call or chat conversation without an account.

Inviting a guest can come in handy. For example, when:

  1. You want to invite a family member to a (video) conversation
  2. You want to include other, external professionals to a (video) conversation (e.g. a social worker, coach or dean)

How does this work?

Step 1. The manager of the conversation generates a link (via the 'add participants' button).

He or she shares this link with a guest outside the platform (e.g. via e-mail).

Note: only professionals have this option!
Step 2. The guest clicks on the link (this link is valid for 7 days). The guest asks for access by filling in his/her name.

Step 3. The manager of the conversation receives a task. He/she accepts the guest (it's also possible to deny access for the guest, if needed).

Step 4. When the guest has been accepted he/she will be added as a participant and all participants can communicate with each other (messages or video calls).

After 1 hour of inactivity the guest will be removed from the conversation automatically. If he/she would like to gain access to the conversation again, he/she needs to request this again.

Temporary conversation

This update is relevant for all professionals

This functionality is not available by default. The Minddistrict Servicedesk can activate this functionality on request.

From now on, professionals will have the option to start a temporary conversation. A temporary conversation is a conversation where all data will be deleted automatically.

A temporo]ary conversation can come in handy. For example, when:

  1. you want to invite an external professional for consultation via a (video) conversation
  2. you want to have a (video) conversation where it's not necessary or not desirable to save the conversation data

Details of a temporary conversation:

  • can only be used by professionals
  • all video calling data will be deleted 1 hour after the video call has ended
  • all conversation data will be deleted 7 days after the conversation has ended

How does it work?

Step 1. The professional starts a new conversation via the 'Conversations' menu. He or she can then choose between:
  1. A regular conversation with a contact person
  2. A temporary conversation
Step 2. When the professional chooses a temporary conversation he/she has two options to add participants:
  1. One or more professionals from the list of contact persons
  2. Generate a link to add a guest (someone without an account in the platform)

Note: it's not possible to add clients from your contact list to a temporary conversation.

The user will see a warning on the conversation page that the conversation will be deleted automatically.

Step 3. Once a video conversation ends, all conversation data will be deleted after 1 hour. When there was no video conversation, deletion will take place after 1 week.

Note: potential video calling minutes will be saved as data and not deleted.

Update privacy statement

This update is relevant for all users

Our privacy statement will be updated to provide more clarity for the end user. Several terms will be described more clearly and information about guest accounts will be added.

There will also be the option for organisations to add their own contact information to the privacy statement. The following information can be added by the application manager via Configuration > Contact:

  • Website address
  • Name of the legal entity of the organisation
  • E-mail address  of the data protection officer

New module: MindReSolve

Originally created and tested by Professor Edward Watkins at the University of Exeter, MindReSolve is a proven, evidence-based digital intervention for reducing worry, rumination, stress, anxiety and depression in young people.

Everyone experiences stress at some point through their lives. How people respond to such stress can influence how they live their life. It can determine whether they have happy and productive lives or get trapped in anxiety and depression. This online self-help training is focused on learning how to deal better with stress.

The principles of the intervention are relevant to all age groups – however the specific examples and scenarios used are for young adults (aged 15-24).

For more detailed information on the randomized controlled trial related to this intervention and for the published results, please get in touch with your account manager.
